Workshop titel:
Hosting Grief groups for young adults – “If I don´t understand myself, how can I demand others to understand me?”

Workshop description and topic
The University chaplaincy in Uppsala have long experience of hosting grief groups for young adults (age 20-35) where they have the possibility to share grief after a loved one. What´s unique here is that we allow all different kinds of losses to be subject for the grief group. What we have found is when having lost a loved one as a young person it is very important to meet others at the same age. The cause of loss is subordinated. The bond that develops between the participants is of great help when it comes to deal with the grief. To recognize oneself in another persons experiences is if significance in this case.

I would like to share our model for grief groups and invite to a reflection on how to meet young adults that are grieving.
