Ribe Cathedral
At Ribe Cathedral, we will be greeted by Ribe’s bishop, Elof Westergaard, who will lead a brief service for us and share insights into the church’s history.
Ribe Cathedral stands as Denmark’s oldest cathedral and a significant Romanesque architectural masterpiece. Constructed between 1150 and 1225, it boasts a dramatic history marked by fires and floods, yet it has been rebuilt, restored, and adorned by renowned Danish artists over the centuries. Notably, Carl-Henning Pedersen adorned the apse arch with stained glass mosaics between 1982 and 1987, depicting biblical narratives in his unique interpretation.
Today, the cathedral serves as both the main evangelical-Lutheran church of Ribe Diocese and the parish church of Ribe. It welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world each year.
The conference program places significant emphasis on workshops, providing attendees with intimate and focused settings for learning and exchanging insights, experiences, and practices.
